Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom in the weeks leading up to Christmas. It's a steep price that changes every year, so some people may not find it worth it. The only con to this party is the price, which might be an issue for the budget minded, but I think it's a great event to go to, even just once. A quick note: you're able to enter the park at 4:00 PM with MVMCP tickets without regular park entrance tickets. If you have park tickets already, no need to worry and you can spend the entire day. We actually split up this day and went to a different park that morning.
Here are the pros:
Shorter lines for rides. We attended this party on our very last night and were able to ride all of the rides we missed before and rode Space Mountain + Big Thunder Mountain Railroad a few more times while we were at it, with almost no wait.
Rare Characters: Shorter wait times for rides also allows extra time to stand in the lines for the rare character appearances that come out during this party. There are characters on every turn! We caught glimpses of Scrooge McDuck and ALL SEVEN dwarfs. (To be transparent, we didn't stand in line for these but opted to ride the rides several times. The longest line I saw was for the dwarfs and I believe it was about 45 minutes long- which isn't bad since the lines for characters in regular park hours are much longer.) We did stand in line for Aladdin, though, which we'd never encountered before.
Free Hot Coco and Cookies: Self explanatory.
The Parade: If you attend the party, please don't miss one of the two parade times! It is a special Christmas themed parade with all the typical Christmas aspects, including an appearance from Santa. They also make it "snow" on Main Street and that just is the cherry on the top.
^^ How amazing do these toy soldier's look? They're literally tin and really do play the trumpets.^^
Holiday Wishes: While we (you guessed it) opted to ride more rides during Holiday Wishes (guaranteeing almost no lines), the fireworks displays are always really great. It is a different routine than regular wishes, so don't think you're paying for the same show you see on other nights.
To take us out- snapshots of us having a blast in the humidity. Ashley was starstruck by Belle. P.S. Disney Christmas shirts were a big hit. We were asked probably every hour where we got them.
^^Awkward arm poses galore.^^
